Our practice cares for domestic pets and we are also lucky enough to have a small animal orthopaedic and spinal referral centre running from the same site.
The Grove has branches in Swaffham and East Dereham with the main hospital located at Grove House in Fakenham. All three practices have operating, laboratory and day hospitalisation facilities, although certain more complex cases are transferred for treatment to Fakenham where we have a CT scanner, digital X-ray and visiting MRI. All surgeries are fully computerised and the branches are linked with the main hospital so up to date records are available at any of the three surgeries.
The practice has descended from many long standing veterinary partnerships. Gordon Brown joined Colin Vogel in 1986 and the practice then started a long process of expansion and diversification leading to its current position. In 1988 a branch surgery was opened on Lynn Street, Swaffham and in May 1994 a surgery was opened in East Dereham. Simon Gilbert joined Gordon and Colin in 1995, which marked the beginning of the orthopaedic referral practice. On the 31st December 2001 following the retirement of Colin Vogel, the group became an 100% small animal practice.
The practice was originally located on Wells Road in Fakenham in Colin Vogels house. In October 2001 the group moved its main premises in Fakenham following a four month conversion of a former administration building, into a spacious and well-equipped surgery with private dedicated parking on the edge of town. This move also marked a change in the practice’s name to The Grove Veterinary Group.
We are extremely proud of the Grove Veterinary Hospital as it is today with our state of the art equipment and experienced team of vets and nurses, enabling us to offer a gold standard professional service.
